Will the stimulus mean more police jobs?

With state and local budgets and severe budget duress, it looks like the stimulus bill may provide some relief.

While much of the bill that the house passed yesterday is comprised of tax cuts and infrastructure improvements, the lion's share is aimed to help state governments meet their budget shortfalls to provide essential services.

Already, in Memphis, the local government is planning to use the stimulus funds to save and create police jobs. Welcome news given the spate of recent layoffs.
